This is the first short story from the collection of The Secret Trails. Inspiration for this story is quite similar to what inspired the writing of our first single "Old State Street". Anyone who knows downtown Santa Barbara, California knows that State Street is a main part of the downtown area. When milling about in social media land, I came across forum dedicated to memories of Old State Street, where people posted old photos and told stories. It reminded me of my mother (who was born and raised in SB), and of my family's lineage. That's where the song and this short story come from. We hope you enjoy it:)
